Section 8 Waiting Lists in New Jersey

As of July 21st, 2023, there are 5 Section 8 waiting lists that are open now, opening soon, or always open in New Jersey.

To apply to an open Section 8 waiting list in New Jersey, you need to submit a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) application to the respective housing authority that has an open waiting list. Here are the waiting lists with their respective openings:

• The Foster Youth Independence Special Purpose Voucher Section 8 waiting list
• The Union City Housing Authority Section 8 waiting list is open until further notice from the housing authority.
• The Veteran Section 8 waiting list has been open since December 3rd, 2018.

You can apply to these waiting lists by submitting your Section 8 HCV application to the respective housing authorities on or after their opening dates.
