The DCA last accepted applications for this waiting list from January 17, 2023, until February 3, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Veterans, Homeless, Disabled, Domestic Violence, and Local Residents.

20,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

Closed: State Rental Assistance Program Project-Based

The State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) State Rental Assistance Program waiting list is closed

Please note: According to the DCA, "only New Jersey residents are eligible to apply for SRAP assistance. A New Jersey resident is defined as someone whose primary residence is in New Jersey and who is present in New Jersey for at least six months prior to applying for SRAP assistance."

"This waiting list was for the following households:

  • Elderly: The Head of household must be 62 years of age or over.
  • Family: The Head of household is 18 years of age or an emancipated minor; with or without children.
  • Disabled: The Head of household or Spouse must be permanently disabled
  • Homeless: A household who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence"

The DCA last accepted applications for this waiting list from July 11, 2022, until July 22, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limit for each household size were listed on the public notice.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

1,000 applicants were placed on the Elderly waiting list by random lottery.

1,000 applicants were placed on the Family waiting list by random lottery.

1,000 applicants were placed on the Disabled waiting list by random lottery.

1,000 applicants were placed on the Homeless waiting list by random lottery.
