Open: Studio and 2-Bedroom, Elderly Senior Public Housing

The Atlantic City Housing Authority (ACHA) is accepting Elderly Public Housing waiting list applications for 0 and 2-Bedroom apartments from the earliest confirmed open date of April 8, 2022, until further notice.

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Involuntarily Displaced Residents
  • Disabled or Health Impaired Elderly Local Residents
  • Displaced Local Residents Who Are Victims of Domestic Violence
  • Elderly Residents Who Live in the City of Atlantic City
  • Handicapped or Disabled Families Who Reside in the City of Atlantic City
  • Residents Who Live and Work in the City of Atlantic City
  • Individuals and Families Who Work in the City of Atlantic City
  • Targeted Funding Admission for Certain Family Types on Regular Waiting List.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

Closed: Atlantic City, New Jersey Section 8 Voucher

The Atlantic City Housing Authority (ACHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from March 16, 2024, until March 20, 2024 or until 500 applications were received. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Family that has been terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding.
    • Therefore, families that are terminated due to insufficient funding must reapply for assistance and be selected from the waiting list. Families that reapply will still be subject to the ACHA’s eligibility requirements.
  • Public Housing families experiencing unusual circumstances where there is a clear and present danger to the family because of violence other than domestic.
    • Families that apply for assistance must be selected from the waiting list and are subject to the ACHA’s eligibility requirements.

550 applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.
