Hope House Mission is managed by Hope House Mission.
For years, Hope House Mission dreamed of creating new facilities where we could have a greater impact on homeless and hurting individuals. Our Main Street Men’s Shelter lacked the space and amenities we needed. We’re excited to announce we held our grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on February 24, 2020 for the relocation of our men’s facility to 1001 Grove St. in Middletown. The new facility will help more people experiencing homelessness in Middletown and surrounding areas.
The new facility includes a 50-bed emergency shelter for men, administrative offices, additional counseling and case management offices, meeting spaces, a chapel, a recreation room, a dining room with a commercial kitchen, a private intake office, and a health counseling room for nurses and visiting doctors.
The new facility also includes 30 one-bedroom permanent supportive housing apartments designed to especially help chronically homeless individuals. The apartments include counseling and case management offices.

Since this property has received funding in part through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, a certain number of units are set aside for lower income households. Households must earn either less than 50% or 60% of the area median income (depending on the set-aside option chosen by the property owner) to qualify for these units. Rents in these units are capped at a maximum of 30% of the set-aside area median income (adjusted for unit size). Some rental units in this property may not be subject to LIHTC and therefore have higher rents and no maximum household income requirement.
