Welcome to Lisbon Square!
Lisbon Square is a one bedroom complex with 34 units for the elderly and disabled. It is conveniently located just two blocks from Clinton's downtown square, yet surrounded by mature landscaping for a country air.
Each apartment is 698 square feet, with one bedroom, one bathroom, a living room, a small storage room, and a galley kitchen. Glass doors off the living room open up onto a cozy patio. There is a picnic shelter and grilling area that is available for use to all tenants and their guests.
The neighborhood is located across the street from The Sampson County History Museum on Lisbon Street. The complex borders a church, the city public works department, and a large vacant lot used for special event parking at the museum. The Clinton Police Department and the city library are just a short stroll down the sidewalk. All this makes for a very quiet and restful atmosphere inside the complex. Tenant rent is income based, and water, sewer, and trash collection are included in the rent.

Since this property has a Project-Based Section 8 contract with HUD, some or all of the rents at this community are based on tenant incomes. Tenants leasing units participating in the Section 8 Project-Based Rental Assistance program typically contribute less than 30% of their adjusted income towards rental costs.
This property has received funding in part through the Section 515 Rural Rental Housing (Section 515) program. Very low, low, and moderate income families, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities are eligible to live at this property. Persons or Families living in substandard housing have priority for tenancy.
Since this property has received funding in part through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, a certain number of units are set aside for lower income households. Households must earn either less than 50% or 60% of the area median income (depending on the set-aside option chosen by the property owner) to qualify for these units. Rents in these units are capped at a maximum of 30% of the set-aside area median income (adjusted for unit size). Some rental units in this property may not be subject to LIHTC and therefore have higher rents and no maximum household income requirement.
