Lynn’s Place is Unique People Services first mixed-use affordable housing development. Named after UPS’ founder Lynn Wonsang, the project was developed for mentally challenged individuals and low-income singles and families. It’s a 6-story, 69 unit complex, that consists of 42 units are supportive housing for individuals with a mental illness and 27 units of affordable housing for individuals and families making less than 60% AMI. The building consists of studios, 1-, and 2-bedroom apartments, a community room, elevators, onsite laundry facilities, individually controlled heating and air conditioning units in each apartment, resident parking spaces and a garden courtyard.

Since this property has received funding in part through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, a certain number of units are set aside for lower income households. Households must earn either less than 50% or 60% of the area median income (depending on the set-aside option chosen by the property owner) to qualify for these units. Rents in these units are capped at a maximum of 30% of the set-aside area median income (adjusted for unit size). Some rental units in this property may not be subject to LIHTC and therefore have higher rents and no maximum household income requirement.
