Royal Oak Manor completed a major renovation project in 2022! All apartments were updated with brand-new cabinets, countertops, heating and cooling systems and improved lighting. Common areas were reworked and renovated, including refinished offices for our co-op volunteers, improved lounges and shared-use spaces for all resident members to enjoy, new flooring, lighting and paint throughout the co-op. Building systems and infrastructure were also upgraded, including a new heating and cooling system, modernized elevators, a new roof, resurfaced and expanded parking lots and upgrades to the fire alarm and other building safety systems. The building exterior was refinished and repainted, and Royal Oak Manor proudly stands out as a sleek and modern fixture of downtown Royal Oak.
Our property features 13 brand new accessible units that were created as part of the renovation project. These units have features that make them more accessible for individuals with a permanent mobility impairment, including widened doorways, lowered kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops, open (cabinet-free) areas beneath sinks, roll-in shower and lower shelves and hanger bars in closets. The waitlist is currently open for accessible units.
Royal Oak Manor Co-op is gradually transforming into a 100% smoke free Co-op; smoking is not allowed in any common areas or within 25 feet of the building. All current members will be grandfathered in to smoke in their own apartments. All new members as of 11/1/2018 are not allowed to smoke in their own apartment.

The membership also includes privileges such as serving in elected or appointed positions, voting in co-op elections, CSI board elections, corporate bylaw changes or other matters coming before the members. Resident members have the opportunity to attend many different functions throughout the year, including the CSI annual luncheon.
