The Weldon is managed by Schochet Companies.
Weldon House was originally built in 1905 to be used as company suites and residential apartments for a local manufacturer of metalworking tools, and was quickly converted to the Weldon Hotel. Weldon was not only the first all concrete hotel in New England, it was also one of the most appealing and most expensive hotels in the region. Due to its significance Weldon House entered the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. In 1982, Weldon House was renovated to cater to low income elderly and disabled individuals. It has 105 apartments in its five-story concrete building located in Greenfield, Massachusetts. Established in 1752, Greenfield is a residential neighborhood located almost 100 miles from Boston on the Deerfield River. Greenfield has many attractions including, Poets Seat Tower Park, a lookout tower from 1912, known for being an attraction to poets, and also a place where you can catch beautiful views. Greenfield Energy Park has tree lined paths you can walk along, or you could visit the covered bridge on Eunice Williams Drive; a popular spot for fishing and swimming. There is plenty of culture in Greenfield, too. Don't miss the Artspace Community Arts Center, the Pioneer Valley Symphony and Chorus, or the Geissler Gallery at the Stoneleigh Burnham School.
