The Friary Apartments is managed by Winterwood Property Management.
The Friary is a historic project with major community impact through restoration of a vacant site within a largely revitalized area, further leveraging other public and private investments. It provides Marian the opportunity to use the building's history to create a new story. The site was originally constructed in 1899 and utilized as both a convent and a monastery in association with St. Boniface Church. It was placed on the historic register in September 1982. The completed renovation will produce 29 units of affordable housing comprised of twenty single bedroom apartments and nine efficiency apartments.

Since this property has received funding in part through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, a certain number of units are set aside for lower income households. Households must earn either less than 50% or 60% of the area median income (depending on the set-aside option chosen by the property owner) to qualify for these units. Rents in these units are capped at a maximum of 30% of the set-aside area median income (adjusted for unit size). Some rental units in this property may not be subject to LIHTC and therefore have higher rents and no maximum household income requirement.
