The Farm is managed by MidPen Housing.

Named after the historic farmhouse across from the community, The Farm was developed in partnership with MidPen and GreenFarm Limited Partners, a single-family home builder, and the County of Santa Cruz Redevelopment Agency. The project was part of an overall plan that included market rate homes and a park. All the single-family homes sold quickly after the affordable housing community's construction. The rental housing portion of the farmhouse-style development includes a tot-lot, a large courtyard lawn area and a child care facility. The Farm has received numerous awards, including Builder Magazine's Builder's Choice Grand Award, a Fannie Mae Maxwell Award of Excellence, an American Wood Council Award, an Urban Design Award from the California Council of the AIA, and a Gold Nugget Grand Award from the Pacific Coast Builders.

Since this property has received funding in part through the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, a certain number of units are set aside for lower income households. Households must earn either less than 50% or 60% of the area median income (depending on the set-aside option chosen by the property owner) to qualify for these units. Rents in these units are capped at a maximum of 30% of the set-aside area median income (adjusted for unit size). Some rental units in this property may not be subject to LIHTC and therefore have higher rents and no maximum household income requirement.
