Basic Independence Apartments and Ozark Community Home, together are Twin River Community Living Facility.

This apartment complex is designed for those individuals who wish and are able to live a more independent lifestyle and consists of 16 one bedroom apartments.  Staff is available 24 hours a day.  Many of the apartment clients also attend the local center and a few are employed at minimum wage jobs in town.  Staff dedicates time to each client on a daily basis.  The amount of time spent varies depending on the client’s specific needs.  Weekly shopping trips are provided by staff and cooking classes are offered to help teach safe food preparation and promote healthy food choices.  Many of these clients are members of a local gym.  Each person is free to enjoy only the activities they choose to participate in.

Ozark Community Home

This group home offers a supervised living program for those clients who require 24 hour care and assistance.  Offers clients a homelike atmosphere with staff present 24 hours a day.  Days are structured but not regimented.  Clients attend a local center where they work and attend life skills classes.  All meals are prepared fresh by our staff and are nutritious and delicious.  Meals are served at the dining room table with staff present, our clients and staff enjoying the family time it allows.  Meal clean up is done by the clients on a rotating basis; and each client has weekly chores he/she is responsible for.  Clients are free to spend time with each other or work at their own activities.
 

Eligibility for Basic Independence Apartments

Generally, households earning up to the income limit in the table below for their household size are eligible for units participating in a HUD rental assistance program in Mountain Home but actual income limits may differ for units at Basic Independence Apartments.

Since this property was built or renovated using funding from HUD's Section 202 Supportive Housing for the Elderly program, residency is usually restricted to households earning 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or less with at least one member age 62 years or older. Tenants pay rent based on household income. This rent is usually the highest of the following three amounts: either 30% adjusted monthly income, or 10% unadjusted monthly income, or, if receiving welfare assistance, the housing costs portion of this assistance.
