Open: Valor on Washington, 2 and 3-Bedroom Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

Please Note: Due to the decentralized nature of affordable housing information, the information about this waiting list may be out of date.

The Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) is accepting Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 2 and 3-Bedroom apartments at Valor on Washington from July 15, 2021, until further notice.

Please note: According to DCHA, "In order to qualify for the PBVs at this property, applicants must have a household member who is a veteran, and qualify for a two- or three-bedroom based on both DCHA subsidy standards & their household/family composition"

To apply during the opening period, contact DCHA Eligibility by email at eligibility@dcha.net to get an application.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Preference is given to those living, working or attending a training program in Dane County.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

IMPORTANT: This is not the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. Section 8 Project-Based Voucher tenants are required to live in a specific apartment community or scattered site. After one year of occupancy, a Project-Based Voucher tenant may request to be placed on a waiting list to receive the next available Housing Choice Voucher or similar tenant-based rental assistance.

Closed: Dane County Housing Authority Public Housing

The Dane County Housing Authority (DCHA) is not accepting Public Housing waiting list applications at this time. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Pick up an application at the DCHA office.
  2. Call to request an application by mail.

Once the application has been completed, it must have been mailed or hand delivered to Wisconsin Management.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Families with children, elderly, disabled, displaced, rent burdened, or substandard living conditions.
