The Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority (DRHA) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from April 1, 2021, until April 30, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the DRHA, "Mainstream vouchers are specifically for non-elderly disabled families which include a disabled person between the ages of 18 and 62."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Family that has been terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Please note: According to the DRHA website, "Anyone that applies must reside in Danville/Pittsylvania County for one year after receiving their voucher."

  • Applicants that live, work or have been hired to work in City of Danville, and Pittsylvania County (10 points)
  • Veterans (5 Points)
  • Family that has been terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding (40 points)

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
