Open: Alexander Oaks, Summit Oaks and Eastern Oaks Apartments Public Housing

The Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for Alexander Oaks, Summit Oaks and Eastern Oaks Apartments from December 21, 2023, until further notice.

This waiting list is for the following properties:

  • Alexander Oaks - located at 6119 Valiant Cir, Austinn, TX 78749.
  • Summit Oaks - located at 11607 Sierra Nevada Ln, Austin, TX 78759.
  • Eastern Oaks - located at 4922 Nuckols Crossing Rd, Austin, TX 78744.

To apply while the waiting list is open, Download and print the paper application that is available on the HATC website.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be: Emailed to waitlists@hatctx.com. 

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not yet known how applicants will be placed on this waiting list, by order of preferences.

Closed: Travis County, Texas Section 8 Voucher

The Housing Authority of Travis County (HATC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed

The HATC last accepted applications for this waiting list from July 1, 2022, until July 8, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Homeless Preference to qualify for the Homeless Preference, the applicant must:
    1. Meet the HUD definition of Homeless:
    2. Be referred to HATC by a coalition of homeless providers with whom HATC has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the providers roles and responsibilities with respect to the provision of housing search assistance and supportive services for the referred household; and,
    3. Provide documentation from the referring homeless service provider regarding homeless status eligibility prio to providing housing assistance.
  • Non-Elderly (under 62) persons with disabilities who are transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings, at serious risk of institutionalization, currently experiencing homelessness, previously experienced homelessness and currently a client in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing project, or those at risk of experiencing homelessness.

500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
