Closed: Multi-County, Texas Mainstream Voucher

The Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted for one day on March 1, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen. 

Please note: According to the CTCOG, "To qualify for the Mainstream Voucher, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be non-elderly (between the ages of 18-61), AND
  2. Have an adult member with a verifiable disability, AND
  3. Is either experiencing homelessness OR in danger of experiencing homelessness."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It was not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

Closed: Multi-County, Texas Section 8 Voucher

The Central Texas Council of Governments (CTCOG) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 3, 2022, until September 1, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Victim of Domestic Violence within the last 90 days
  • Displaced due to a governmental action
  • Live/work in the following counties: Milam, Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, San Saba, Mills or Hamilton County
  • Live in an area that is a federally declared disaster area
  • Applying for the mainstream voucher (Must be all 3: 18-61 years old, homeless, & verifiable disability)
  • Homeless or experiencing homelessness
  • Disabled, or have a verifiable disability that can be confirmed by a knowledgeable professional

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, in order of preferences.
