To apply during the opening period, print the application that is available online.

Once the application has been completed, it can be either:

Mailed to Jackson Housing Authority, P.O. Box 3188, Jackson, Tennessee 38303.
Hand delivered to the JHA office, located at 125 Preston Street, Jackson, Tennessee 38303.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

Displaced by Government Action or Presidentially Declared Disaster.
Victim of Domestic Violence.
Working, Elderly, or Disabled.

Closed: Madison County, Tennessee Section 8 Voucher

The Jackson Housing Authority (JHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted for one day on June 24, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening time, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

Terminated from its HCV program due to insufficient program funding.
Victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who have either been referred by a partnering service agency or consortia or is seeking an emergency transfer under VAWA from the PHA’s public housing program or other covered housing program operated by the PHA.
- The PHA will work with the following partnering service agencies: WRAP – Wo/Men’s Rape and Resource Assistance Program, Jackson, TN The applicant must certify that the abuser will not reside with the applicant unless the PHA gives prior written approval.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.
