Closed: Dickson, Tennessee Section 8 Voucher

The Dickson Housing Authority (DHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications, from the earliest confirmed date of October 11, 2023, until October 15, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Residency Preference: for families who live, work or have been hired to work in the jurisdiction.
  • Singles Preference: All families with children, elderly families and disabled families will have an admission preference over “Other Singles”.
  • Subsidized Housing Preference:  Families not living in subsidized housing will be given an admission preference over families living in subsidized housing.
  • HCV Rescinded:  Families who have been issued a Housing Choice Voucher and then had it rescinded due to insufficient HUD funding.  
  • Victims of Domestic Violence
  • Involuntary Displacement Preference: 
    • A disaster (fire, flood, earthquake, etc.) that has caused the unit to be uninhabitable.
    • Federal, state of local government action related to code enforcement, public improvement or development.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
