Please note: The Lehigh County Housing Authority covers Lehigh County, with the exception of Allentown and Bethlehem, PA. Please click the prior links for information on those areas.The Lehigh County Housing Authority (LCHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications, from June 14, 2016, until August 16, 2016.Please note: This waiting list has preferences. This means that applicants who qualify for these preferences will receive assistance before applicants who do not. Because of these preferences, applicants who do not qualify may have a longer wait to receive assistance.There are four ways to apply:

  1. Download and print the application online here. Click the link titled "Housing Application" in the #3 section under "How do you apply for housing?"
  2. Pick up an application at 333 Ridge St., Emmaus, PA 18049.
  3. Pick up an application at 120 N 3rd St., Emmaus, PA 18049.
  4. Call (610) 433-2312, Ext. 3 to request an application be mailed to you. Slowly and clearly sate your name and address during the message. An application will be mailed within 10 business days.
Applicants who require reasonable accommodation to complete the application can call (610) 433-2312, Ext. 201 to make an appointment.Once the application has been completed, it must be dropped off to the Application and Waiting List Office, located at 120 N. 3rd St., Emmaus, PA 18049, or mailed to 333 Ridge St., Emmaus, PA 18049.This waiting list has the following preferences: Displaced by government action; veteran living in units designated affordable paying more than 30% of income towards rent; live, work or attend school in Lehigh County, excluding Allentown and Bethlehem.Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, after sorting preferences.Applicants will be notified of their placement by mail.Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Closed: Lehigh County Housing Authority Section 8 Voucher

The Lehigh County Housing Authority (LCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for two months from June 2016 until August 2016, and before that in May 2011. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were three ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Download and print the application online.
  2. Pick up an application in person.
  3. Call to request an application be mailed to you.

Once the application was completed, it must have been dropped off to the Application and Waiting List Office, or mailed.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Displaced by government action; veteran living in units designated affordable paying more than 30% of income towards rent; live, work or attend school in Lehigh County, excluding Allentown and Bethlehem.

Applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.

Applicants will be notified of their placement by mail.
