The Marion County Housing Authority (MCHA) is accepting Senior MCHA-Owned waiting list applications for Multiple Senior properties from the earliest confirmed open date of April 19, 2024.

This waiting list is for the following senior properties:

  • Edelweiss Village - located at 150 N Garfield, Mt. Angel, 97362. 1-Bedroom apartments.
  • Hazelwood Estates -  located at 675-955 Carol St, Woodburn, OR, 97071. 1 and 2-Bedroom apartments.
  • Oak Park Village - located at 1011-1087 N 10th, Stayton, 97383. 1-Bedroom apartments.
  • Sheridan Senior Estates - located at 185 South Sheridan St, Mt. Angel, 97362. 2-Bedroom apartments.
  • Stayton Elder Manor - located at 650-672 West Ida St, Stayton, 97383. 1 and 2-Bedroom apartments.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

To apply while the waitlist is open, print the paper application for each property below:

Once the paper application has been completed, it was to be either:

  1. Hand delivered to the MCHA main office, located at 2645 Portland Rd. NE, Suite 200, Salem, OR 97301.
  2. Mailed to the MCHA office, address mentioned above.
  3. Faxed to the MCHA at (503) 798-4171.

  • Creekside Duplexes - located at 210 -260 11th St and 1080-1090 SW Washington St, Aumsville, 97325. 2 and 3-bedroom apartments
  • Evergreen Court - located at 426 Union St, Jefferson, 97352. 2 and 3-bedroom apartments.
  • Meadowood - located at 322 Conser St, Jefferson , 97352. 4-bedroom apartments 
  • Woodpark Terrace - located at 1025 Park Ave, Woodburn,  97071. 2 and 3-bedroom apartments

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

Closed: Marion County, Oregon Section 8 Voucher

The Marion County Housing Authority (MCHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from January 9, 2024, until February 6, 2024. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply while the waiting list was open:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Pick up an application from the MCHA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Marion County Housing Authority will offer a preference to any family terminated from the Housing Choice Voucher program due to insufficient funding.
  • Program Transfer Preference: For families that are currently served in another permanent housing assistance program administered by MCHA when the other program is unable to serve the family and when necessary for MCHA to house the family.
  • Beachie Creek Wildfire Evacuee’s: Priority 1
    • Households displaced by the Beachie Creek wildfire. This preference will sunset after 100 vouchers have been issued.
  • Special Programs Preference: Priority 2
    • This program encompasses any family with a household member who is currently receiving services from a Marion County-administered program including: Marion County Health Department (including all sub-programs), Marion County Parole & Probation, Marion County Juvenile Department, and Marion County Victims Services.
  • Rent Burdened preference: Priority 3
    • Households living in rural Marion County. Households are considered to be rent burden if A) they had been issued a non-payment of rent notice in the past six months or B) the households pays more than 50% of their income towards rent and utilities.
  • Residency preference: Priority 4
    • Families receive a residency preference if they live, work or have been hired to work in the jurisdiction of Marion County Housing Authority.
  • Homelessness Preference: Priority 4
    • In order to be eligible for the homelessness preference, individuals and families must meet the HUD definition of homelessness.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
