Closed: Washington County, Oregon Section 8 Voucher

The Housing Authority of Washington County (HAWC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from July 26, 2021 until August 4, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Terminated HCV Family due to Insufficient Program Funding 
  • Administrative Preference
  • Mainstream Voucher Eligible Families that are Homeless, At Risk of Homelessness, Transitioning from Institutional/Segregated Settings, or At Risk of Institutionalization (limited to the number of Mainstream Program Vouchers allocated to the PHA)\
  • Homeless
  • Elderly or Disabled on a Fixed Income or No Income
  • Victim of Domestic Violence

2,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: The Viewfinder and The Mary Ann Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Housing Authority of Washington County (HAWC) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at the The Viewfinder and The Mary Ann is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from July 7, 2021, until July 20, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

  • The Viewfinder offers 1 and 2-bedroom units.
  • The Mary Ann offers 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Pick up the paper application from the HAWC lobby.

Once the application was completed, it was returned to the HAWC.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Extremely Low-Income households (at or below 30% of the Area Median Income, currently $20,300 for a 1-person household)

It was not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

The Housing Authority of Washington County (HAWC) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at Aloha Park, Bonita Villa, The Ridge at Bull Mountain and The Villager is closed.

The HAWC last accepted applications for this waiting list from September 28, 2022, until October 6, 2022; or until applications exceeded 300 for each bedroom size.

  • Aloha Park: 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units in Beaverton, Oregon
  • Bonita Villa: 1, 2, and 3 bedroom units in Tigard, Oregon
  • The Ridge at Bull Mountain: 1 and 2 bedroom units in Tigard, Oregon
  • The Villager: 3 bedroom units in Forest Grove, Oregon

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Pick up the paper application from the HAWC lobby.

Once the application was completed, it was returned to the HAWC during normal office hours or drop box.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Extremely Low-Income households.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

The Housing Authority of Washington County (HAWC) last accepted Public Housing waiting list applications for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments from September 20, 2023, until September 26, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had no preferences. The HAWC public notice stated, "The housing authority however will prioritize Extremely Low-Income families, whose households do not exceed 30% of the median income".

300 applicants were placed on the waiting list for each bedroom size by random lottery.
