The Walters Housing Authority (WHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for general occupancy.



The WHA offers one Public Housing community with 31 units for general occupancy, ranging in size from studios to 2 bedrooms.


To apply, visit the WHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 500 E California Ave., Walters, OK 73572, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.


Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday.


No documents are needed at this time.


The WHA does not have a preference.


Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.


Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application has been received.


As of December 2015, the waiting list and wait time for Public Housing is very long.
