Open: Shelby Metropolitan Housing Authority Section 8 Voucher

The Shelby Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) is currently accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications. This waiting list is open indefinitely.

There are two ways to apply:

1. Visit the SMHA office in person to pick up an application, located at 706 North Wagner Ave., Sidney, Ohio 45365, Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

2. Download application here, then print and complete.

Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above on Thursdays only, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm. Be sure to bring these original documents with you: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.

The SMHA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: displaced by government action, displaced by a natural disaster, enrolled in an educational or job training program, victim of domestic violence, live and/or work in Shelby County, family whose children were placed in foster care pending location of decent housing, or homeless and disabled.

The Shelby Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The SMHA offers five public housing communities for families and senior/disabled individuals, located throughout Shelby County.There are two ways to apply:1.
