Closed: Limited Hancock, Hardin, Putnam, and Wyandot County, Ohio Section 8 Voucher

The Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority (HMHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from November 7, 2023, until November 15, 2023. This waiting list was last open in March, 2023. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HMHA, the waiting list was open for "individuals or families whose Head of household, Co-head, or Spouse meets either of the following two criteria:

• Veteran. A veteran or current member of one of the four branches of the U.S. military service with other than dishonorable discharge conditions. Widows/widowers of service members who have not remarried are included (must submit a copy of the marriage license). A DD214 must be submitted with the application; we cannot accept an application without it. OR
• Under the age of 62 and Disabled. A Social Security Disability Award Letter must be submitted with the application; we cannot accept an application without it. (Please note: Families with only a minor child with a disability do not meet this criterion- it must be the head of household, co-head, or spouse with the disability)."

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to pick up a paper application at The Family Center.

Once the paper application was completed, it was hand delivered to the HMHA office.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

Closed: Hardin County, Ohio HOME Program Project-Based

The Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority (HMHA) HOME Investment Partnerships Program waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for Hardin County from May until July, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HMHA, "You must apply and qualify for the HCV Waiting List and be living in Hardin County or the City of Kenton to receive a voucher for the HOME program."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to pick up an application at the HMHA office.

Once the application was completed, it must have been turned in to the HMHA office.

The waiting list had the following preferences: Veterans and Disabled.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.

Closed: Rental Assistance Project-Based

The Hancock Metropolitan Housing Authority (HMHA) waiting list for Rental Assistance apartments is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from July 20, 2020 until July 22, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to pick up an application from the HMHA.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Veteran Preference is offered to a family whose head of household or spouse is a veteran or current member of the four branches of U.S. military who was discharged or released from such services for other than dishonorable conditions. A widow/widower of a discharged or released service person for other than dishonorable conditions is also eligible for this preference, if he or she has not remarried. Please provide HMHA with a copy your DD214 when you return your application.
• HMHA also has targeted funding for Non-Elderly Disabled. The head of household, spouse or co-head of household must be income eligible, under the age of 62 and disabled. Families with only a minor child with a disability are not eligible for this funding. Please provide HMHA with a copy of the head of household, spouse or co-head's Social Security disability award letter when you return your application.

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list.
