Closed: Wake County, North Carolina Section 8 Voucher

The Raleigh Housing Authority (RHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from the earliest confirmed open date of May 1, 2022, until October 31, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to: download and print the paper application. 

Once the application was completed, it was to be either:

  1. Mailed with all required documents to: Raleigh Housing Authority.
  2. Dropped off at the RHA office drop box
  3. Hand delivered to the RHA office.

This waiting list had the following preferences: Elderly, disabled, Wake County resident, Ready To Rent Graduate, Working at least 20 hours per week for at least 6 months.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
