The Housing Authority of the Town of Beaufort (HATB) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The HATB offers three Public Housing communities with 291 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.To apply for Public Housing, download the application here, then print and complete.Once the application has been completed, you must call the HATB to schedule an interview appointment at 252-728-3226, during normal office hours.Be sure to include these original documents with your application: social security cards, birth certificates, photo IDs for all adult household members, proof of all income, all names and addresses of current and previous landlords, phone and fax numbers for employers, caregivers, case workers.The HATB does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: involuntary displaced, substandard living conditions, rent burden, or disabled.More information can be found by visiting the HATB website at http://beauforthousingnc.com, or by calling 252-728-3226, during normal office hours.
