Closed: Nassau County, New York Section 8 Voucher

The Nassau County Office of Housing (NCOH) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from June 21, 2021 until July 2, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limit for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $45,500 | 5 Persons $70,150
  • 2 Persons $52,000 | 6 Persons $75,350
  • 3 Persons $58,500 | 7 Persons $80,550
  • 4 Persons $64,950 | 8 Persons $85,750

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Households at-risk of or experiencing homelessness
  • Households who identify as elderly and/or disabled
  • Households with dependent children.

The NCOH public notice stated that it "will randomly select 2,500 households for placement on the waitlist." This notice is for both the Housing Choice Voucher and Project-Based Voucher programs. It is not known how many people will be placed on each waiting list.

The Nassau County Office of Housing (NCOH) waiting list for Section 8 Project Based Voucher apartments is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from June 21, 2021 until July 2, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limit for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $45,500 | 5 Persons $70,150
  • 2 Persons $52,000 | 6 Persons $75,350
  • 3 Persons $58,500 | 7 Persons $80,550
  • 4 Persons $64,950 | 8 Persons $85,750

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Households at-risk of or experiencing homelessness
  • Households who identify as elderly and/or disabled
  • Households with dependent children.

2,500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
