The Geneva Housing Authority (GHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least April 2021, until further notice.

To apply during the opening period, print the paper application here. Select the "Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher" link.

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

  • 1 Person $28,100 | 5 Persons $43,350
  • 2 Persons $32,100 | 6 Persons $46,550
  • 3 Persons $36,100 | 7 Persons $49,750
  • 4 Persons $40,100 | 8 Persons $52,950

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

  1. Mailed to the Geneva Housing Authority, Ontario County Section 8 Housing Program, 41 Lewis Street, P.O. Box 153, Geneva, NY 14456.
  2. Faxed to (315) 789-8024.
  3. Dropped off at the GHA, address mentioned above, Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm ET.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Applicants who are elderly, disabled or handicapped
  • Homeless

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

  • Involuntarily displaced due to circumstances beyond my control (e.g. fire, flood)
  • Live or work in the City of Geneva or the Town of Geneva
