Open: Newark Housing Authority Senior / Disabled Public Housing

The Newark Housing Authority (NHA) Senior/Disabled Public Housing waiting list is currently open, since at least 2000, until further notice. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

To apply, pick up an application at the Newark Housing Authority located at 500 Broad Street, 1st Floor, Newark, New Jersey, 07102; Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm ET.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be:

Dropped off at the Newark Housing Authority at the address above, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Mailed to the Newark Housing Authority at 500 Broad Street, 1st Floor, Newark, New Jersey, 07102.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Persons 62 years old or older.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preferences.

The Newark Housing Authority (NHA) Family Public Housing waiting list is currently closed.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

There were no preferences, but the NHA states that a residency preference may be added in the future.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
