Open: Samuel Kronman Apartments Senior Public Housing

The Highland Park Housing Authority (HPHA) is accepting Senior Public Housing waiting list applications for Samuel Kronman apartments from the earliest confirmed date of April 25, 2023, until further notice.

Please note: According to the HPHA notice," Head of household must be 62 years of age or older or disabled."

To apply during the opening period, call the HPHA at (732) 572-4420 to request an application.

It is not yet known how to submit the paper application after it is completed.

This waiting list has the following preferences: 

  • Live or work in Highland Park (5 points)
  • Veteran/or Sprouse has honorable discharge certificate (1 point)

The Highland Park Housing Authority (HPHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications on a limited basis from July 3, 2023, until 150 applications have been received. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HPHA notice, "Only Highland Park residents (Those who live or work in HP) can apply."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Preferences have not been confirmed.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.

The Highland Park Housing Authority (HPHA) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for senior/disabled individuals.Please note: The waiting list for family public housing is currently closed.The HPHA offers three public housing communities for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply for public housing:1. Visit the HPHA office to pick up an application, located at 242 South Sixth Ave., Highland Park, NJ 08904, during normal office hours.2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling 732-572-4420 during normal office hours.Once the application has been completed, you must call the housing authority to schedule an interview. Be sure to bring these documents with you at the time of you interview: social security cards, birth certificates, proof of all income, photo IDs for all adult household members, and bank statements.The HPHA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list; veteran, or live and/or work in Highland Park.More information can be found by visiting the HPHA website at http://highlandparkhousing.org/, or by calling 732-572-4420 during normal office hours.
