Closed: Douglas County, Nebraska Section 8 Voucher

The Douglas County Housing Authority (DCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. It was last open for one day in May, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to call the DCHA to schedule an application appointment. The waiting list closed once 500 applicants were scheduled for appointments.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list. 

At the time of the application appointment, applicants must be 18 years of age or older, meet other standards for eligibility, and provide documentation as requested. All household members who are 18 years or older must be able to pass a Douglas County Housing Authority background check and other standards for eligibility. Applicants who are deemed eligible will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with the DCHA's Administrative policies. Applicants on wait list for other housing programs must apply separately for this program. Applicants will not lose their place on other waiting lists.
