The Housing Authority of the City of Charleston (HACC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.The HACC offers one Public Housing community with 277 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 5 bedrooms.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the HACC to pick up a pre-application, located at 700 S Elm St., Charleston, MO 63834, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (573) 683-2172 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.The HACC does not have a preference.Qualified applicants will be placed by the date and time the pre-application is received.For more information, call the HACC office at (573) 683-2172 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
