Open: Saint Louis Housing Commission Section 8 Voucher

The Saint Louis Housing Commission (SLHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. This waiting list is open indefinitely.

Saint Louis, MI is about 50 miles north of Lansing, MI.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the SLHC to pick up an application, located at 308 Delaware St., Saint Louis, Michigan 48880, from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and 8:30 am until 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  2. Download and print the pre-application online.

Once the application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and 8:30 am until 4:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Be sure to include these documents with your application for all members of the household: Birth certificate, Social Security Card, drivers license or other photo ID, bank statements, W-2 form or seaman card (if applicable), baptismal certificate or naturalization card (if applicable), proof of pregnancy from doctor (if applicable), marriage license (if applicable), divorce decree (if applicable), public assistance award letter (if applicable), three current and consecutive check stubs (if applicable), original award letter for unemployment (if applicable), SSI/Social Security award letter (if applicable), and letter from the registrar (if full-time student).

Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.

The Saint Louis Housing Commission (SLHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The SLHC offers one Public Housing community with 80 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the SLHC to pick up a pre-application, located at 308 Delaware St., Saint Louis, Michigan 48880, from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm EDT on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
  2. Download the online pre-application here and the Declaration of Section 214 Status, then print and complete.
