Open: River Park Place Public Housing

The Monroe Housing Commission (MHC) is accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for River Park Apartments from March 6, 2024, until further notice.

To apply while the waitlist is open, apply in person at the Monroe Housing Commission management office, which is located at 20 North Roessler, Monroe, Michigan 48162. The office is inside the River Park Plaza housing facility on the first floor. 8:30-11:30 am and 1:00-3:30 pm. Monday - Thursday. 8:30 am – 11:30 am on Fridays.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.

Closed: Monroe Housing Commission Public Housing

The Monroe Housing Commission is  currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.


This Housing Commission has two apartment communities located throughout Monroe:
River Park Plaza has 71 efficiency apartments and 77 one bedroom apartments dedicated to elderly/disabled individuals.  This community has pull cords in every unit,  and 24 hour onsite caretakers are available.


Greenwood Townhouses is a 115 unit community that offers 2-4 bedrooms there is a day care and security guards on site.


To apply for public housing you can pick up an application at their office located at 20 N. Roessler Monroe, MI 48162, between the hours of 8:30-11:30 and 1:00-3:30, Monday-Thursday and 8:30-11:30 on Fridays.


Once you have completed your application it can be mailed or hand delivered to the above address.  Be sure to include copies of birth certificates, social security cards, proof of income, and photo IDs for all adult household members with your application.

Closed: Greenwood Townhouses, 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom Public Housing

The Monroe Housing Commission (MHC) last accepted Public Housing waiting list applications for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments at Greenwood Townhouses from an unknown open date until, March 6, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to apply in person.
