Open: Capital City Apartments, Efficiencies and 1-Bedroom, Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) Project-Based

Please Note: Due to the decentralized nature of affordable housing information, the information about this waiting list may be out of date.

The Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) is accepting Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) waiting list applications for Efficiencies and 1-Bedroom apartments for Capital City Apartments from November 13, 2023, until 200 applications have been received. 

There are two ways to apply while the waitlist is open:

  1. Pick up an application in person at Capital City Apartments, located at 3200 South Washington Ave Lansing, MI 48910, from 1:00 pm , until 4:30 pm. Monday-Friday.
  2. Pick up an application in person at Lansing Housing Commission Main Office, located at 419 Cherry Lansing, MI, from 1:00 pm , until 4:30 pm. Monday-Friday.

Once the paper application is completed, it must be either:

  1. Hand delivered to Capital City Apartments, located at 3200 South Washington Ave Lansing, MI 48910, from 1:00 pm , until 4:30 pm. Monday-Friday.
  2. Hand delivered to Lansing Housing Commission Main Office, located at 419 Cherry Lansing, MI, from 1:00 pm , until 4:30 pm. Monday-Friday.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Elderly and Disabled

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: Greater Lansing Area, Michigan Section 8 Voucher

The Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from November 17, 2023 until November 22, 2023. This waiting list was last open in June, 2016. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Residency, 1 Point.
  • Living in Substandard Housing, 2 Points.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: Multiple Properties Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) last accepted Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Multiple waiting lists from March 7, 2024, until March 11, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following properties:

  • Woodward Way - located in East Lansing, MI. Offering 1-Bedroom units
  • Homes and Duplexes - located throughout the City of Lansing. Offering 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom units.
  • Stadium North - located in Lansing, MI. Offering 1-Bedroom units
  • Stadium North Senior - located in Lansing, MI. Offering 1-Bedroom units for seniors 55 and older.

There were two ways to apply while the waitlist was open:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Apply in person at the LHC office.

250 selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

The Lansing Housing Commission (LHC) last accepted Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for Stadium North Apartments from May 10, 2024, until May 13, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

This waiting list was for the following property:

  • Stadium North Senior - Seniors 55 and older.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Please note: "Persons who do not have Internet access, or need assistance in completing the application may apply at the Lansing Commission Office located at 419 Cherry Lansing, MI 48933 between 9:00AM-11:30AM and 1:30PM-4:30PM on Monday May 13 only.  Limited time slots will be available."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

It is not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list.
