The Hamtramck Housing Commission is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and elderly/disabled individuals.


This Housing Authority has one apartment community for families and elderly/disabled individuals and one apartment community designated for elderly/disabled individuals.


There is currently a 3-5 year wait for public housing.


To apply for public housing you can pick up an application at their office located at 12025 Dequindre St., Hamtramck, MI 48212, or have an application mailed to you by calling the office during normal business hours at 313-868-7445.


Once the application has been completed you must hand deliver it to the above address Monday-Friday, during normal business hours. Be sure to have originals of birth certificates, social security cards, proof of income, and Photo IDs for all adult household members.
