The Baldwin Housing Commission (BHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

Baldwin, MI is about 70 miles north of Grand Rapids, MI.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the BHC to pick up an application, located at 105 Fournier Dr., Baldwin, MI 49304 during normal office hours.
  2. Request to have an application mailed to you by calling (231) 745-7441 during normal office hours.


Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.

Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: Birth certificates, Social Security Cards, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.

The BHC does not have a preference. 

Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the application is received.

Applicants will receive a confirmation number upon submitting the pre-application. It is important to keep that number in a safe, easy to access place. It will be needed any time when referencing your pre-application with the housing authority.

The BHC expects applicants to wait about a year to receive a voucher.

The Baldwin Housing Commission (BHC) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The BHC offers once Public Housing community with 86 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the BHC to pick up a pre-application, located at 105 Fournier Dr., Baldwin, MI 49304, during normal office hours.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (231) 745-7441 during normal office hours.
