Open: Cambridge, Massachusetts Section 8 Voucher

The Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from October 3, 2016 at 10:00 am ET, and is open indefinitely.

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the online application.

The following documentation is required of all members of the household: Social Security Number, name, date of birth, income.

Income eligibility and community information can be found on public notice here.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Cambridge Resident – You are permanently living in Cambridge on the date that you submit this form.
  • Cambridge Shelter or Transitional Facility – You are living in a Cambridge shelter or transitional facility or you were living in a Cambridge shelter or transitional facility and were relocated by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) or other service provider to a facility outside of Cambridge.
  • Employment in Cambridge - You are not a resident of Cambridge; however, you are employed or about to be employed in Cambridge on the date that you submit this form.
  • Veteran’s Status - Someone in your household is an honorably discharged individual that performed wartime services or the spouse, surviving spouse, parent or other dependent of a honorably discharged veteran.

Applicants who apply after October 31, 2016 will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the pre-application is received, by order of preferences.

Please note: This program offers housing for individuals in congregate living, typically in a shared common space.
