Open: Jefferson County, Kentucky Section 8 Voucher

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is open, since at least March, 2017, until further notice.

There are four ways to apply:

  1. Download and print the the application online. Select the "Section 8 Housing Application" or "Section 8 Housing Application (Spanish)" link.
  2. Pick up an application at the LMHA office, located at 600 South 7th Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
  3. Call (502) 569-6076.
  4. Write a letter to:
    Louisville Metro Housing Authority
    P.O. Box 189
    Louisville, KY 40201-0189

Once the application has been completed, it must be mailed to the LMHA, P.O. Box 189, Louisville, KY 40201. Applications will not be accepted by fax, email or in person.

Reasonable Accommodation

Open: Louisville Metro Housing Authority Public Housing

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA) Public Housing waiting list is currently open, since at least March, 2017, until further notice. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

To applydownload and print the application online. Select the "Application for Public Housing" or "Application for Public Housing (Spanish)" link.

Once the application has been completed, it must be mailed or hand delivered to the LMHA at 420 South 8th Street, Louisville, KY 40203, from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Displaced victims of domestic violence, displaced by government action, rent burden, substandard living conditions, or homeless.
