Open: New Hope Properties Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville (HAH) Section 8 Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at New Hope Properties is currently open.

The HAH is accepting applications for this waiting list from September 30, 2019, until further notice.

To apply during the opening period, complete the online application.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Live OR work in Christian County, KY
  • Elderly
  • Disabled
  • Working
  • Without housing because of a house fire, flood, or other natural disaster
  • Without housing because the landlord has (or is in the process of) selling the home currently rented, or is taking the home back for his/her own personal use
  • Without housing or about to be without housing because of the actions of a government agency
  • Victim of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking or sexual assault within the past 3 months

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

After one year of occupancy, a Project-Based Voucher tenant may request to be placed on a waiting list to receive the next available Housing Choice Voucher or similar tenant-based rental assistance.

The Housing Authority of Hopkinsville (HAH) Public Housing waiting list is currently open, since at least December 7, 2018, until further notice. It was last open from October 2016 until January 2017. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

Hopkinsville, KY is about 60 miles west of Bowling Green, KY.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Complete an application at the HAH office, located at 400 N. Elm St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240, on Wednesdays only, from 9:00 am until 11:00 am; and 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm CT.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Live/work/hired to work in Christian County; elderly; disabled head of household; disabled household member (not head of household or spouse); employed for at least one year and work at least 20 hours or more a week; displaced due to natural disaster; displaced due to government action; victim of domestic violence; current landlord has (or is in the process of) selling the home that you currently rent; or is taking the home back for his/her own personal use.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.
