The Housing Authority of Covington (HAC) is accepting Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from August, 2014, until further notice.

To apply while the waitlist is open, complete the application online.

The following documentation is required when submitting the pre-application: Valid photo ID, birth certificate and Social Security Cards of all members of the household; verification of income and residency. For further explanation, please visit the HAC Section 8 HCV page.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Elderly, handicapped, disabled, works 25+ hours per week for the last 90 days or more, live/work/attend school full time in Kenton County, KY.

Open: Housing Authority of Covington - Section 8 Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Housing Authority of Covington (HAC) Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list is currently open, since at least April, 2019, until further notice. Waiting lists for a specific community or bedroom size may be closed.

To apply, complete an application at the HAC office, located at 2300 Madison Avenue, Covington, Kentucky 41014; on Mondays only, from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm ET.

Please note: According to the HAC, all adults who will be living in the Section 8 household must be present and you must have all of the items listed below." The list of items required can be found here.

This waiting list has the following preferences: Live or work in Kenton County, Kentucky.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, by order of preference.

Applicants who need help completing the application due to disability can make a reasonable accommodation request to the housing authority via (859) 292-2188, or (800) 545-1833, ext. 931 (for speech or hearing impaired) .

IMPORTANT: This is not the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. Section 8 Project-Based Voucher tenants are required to live in a specific apartment community or scattered site. After one year of occupancy, a Project-Based Voucher tenant may request to be placed on a waiting list to receive the next available Housing Choice Voucher or similar tenant-based rental assistance.
