The Fort Scott Housing Authority (FSHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The FSHA offers one Public Housing community with 188 units for families and senior/disabled individuals, ranging in size from studio's to 4 bedrooms.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the FSHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 315 Scott Ave., Fort Scott, KS 66701, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (620) 223-4570, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday.Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards, proof of all income, birth certificates, proof of all income, and photo IDs for all adult household members.The FSHA does have a preference for: Working, elderly, or disabled.For more information, the FSHA can be reached by calling (620) 223-4570, from 9:00 am until 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
