Closed: Davenport, Iowa Section 8 Voucher

The Davenport Housing Commission (DHC) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The DHC last accepted applications for this waiting list from September 20, 2022, until September 21, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, in person applications were accepted at the River’s Edge.

The maximum income limit for each household size were available on the pubic notice.

This waiting list had the following preference:

  • HUD or Davenport OAH Targeted Populations – This preference is reserved for HUD targeted populations or OAH targeted populations which currently include VASH program participants in Davenport that no longer need VA case management but still require a Section 8 voucher and Davenport Public Housing program participants that have been on the program for 3 years or more, have been model tenants, and still require rental assistance and make written request to move to the housing choice voucher program. Weighting value = 10,000,000 points.
  • Current Davenport Residents. Weighting value = 1,000,000 points.
  • Those Displaced by Natural Disaster or Code Enforcement Action. Weighting value = 200,000 points.
  • Elderly Persons 62 years of age and older. Weighting value = 30,000 points.
  • Disabled Persons and their families. Weighting value = 4,000 points.
  • Families with children 5 years of age and under. Weighting value = 500 points.
  • Working Families. Weighting value = 60 points.
  • Foster Youth to Independence (FYI). Weighting value 11,000,000 points.
  • All other families who do not meet the above criteria for a local preference but still meet the minimum eligibility requirements for the Section 8 program receive no additional weighting and will have their application ranked only by date and time of application. Weighting value therefore = 0 points.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: Davenport Housing Commission Public Housing

The City of Davenport Office of Assisted Housing (OAH) Public Housing waiting list is currently closed. The 2-3 Bedroom waiting list was last open for three weeks in June, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to pick up an application at the Davenport Office of Assisted Housing.

Once the application was completed, it must have been dropped off at the Davenport Office of Assisted Housing.

There were no preferences.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received.
