Please note: The Area XV Multi-County Housing Agency covers the counties of Appanoose, Davis, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lucas, Mahaska, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello, Washingon, and Wayne, IA.


The Area XV Multi-County Housing Agency (AXVMCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

Please note: Each county has its own waiting list. Be sure to mark which county and bedroom size you would like to be placed on.

There are two ways to apply

  1. Visit the AXVMCHA to pick up a pre-application, located at 417 N College St, Agency, IA 52530 during normal office hours.
  2. Request to have a pre-application mailed to you by calling (641) 937-5222 during normal office hours.


Once the pre-applicaton has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.

Be sure to include copies of these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, and if claiming the residency preference, you need to supply documentation.

The AXVMCHA does have a preference for: Applicants who live and/or work in the counties served by this office.

Reasonable Accommodation
