The St. Clair County Housing Authority (SCCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least June, 2018, until further notice.

To apply during the opening period, print the application that is available online. In the "Programs" tab, go to "HCVP Housing Choice Voucher Program" and then select the "Housing Application" link.

Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to:

This waiting list has the following preferences: 

  • Living or working in the jurisdiction
  • Employed (or a senior citizen, or person with a disability)
  • Unmet housing need
  • Veteran or the survivor of a veteran
  • Law enforcement official or certified teacher
  • Being displaced by government action or a presidentially declared disaster

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
