Please note: According to KHA, "These vouchers are specifically targeted to assist non-elderly persons with disabilities"

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Persons who are clients of the Will, Grundy and Kendall Counties Continuum of Care agencies who are transitioning out of institutional or other separated settings; at serious risk of institutionalization; currently experiencing homelessness; or previously experienced homelessness and currently a client in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing project.

Closed: Kendall County, Illinois Section 8 Voucher

The Kendall Housing Authority (KHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The KHA last accepted applications for this waiting list for one day only on October 11, 2022, or until 300 applications were received. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Residency: Full-time Resident of any municipality or township within the KHA service area of Kendall County; or one or more adults in the household is employed at least 30 hours per week within the KHA service area of Kendall County; or if one or more adults in the household is a participant for at least 30 hours per week within the KHA service area of Kendall County in an accredited employment training program designed to prepare individuals for the job market
  • Family:
    • At least one household member is a minor child under 18 years old
    • The head of household or spouse is at least 62 years of age or older
    • At least one household member is disabled
  • Veteran
  • Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault and Stalking Preference
  • Family Self-sufficiency (FSS)/ HUD Program Preference:
    • Enrolled in the HUD Family Self-sufficiency Program (FSS)
    • Enrolled in any other HUD Demonstration Program. Demonstration Programs are HUD sponsored programs that after a determination of good cause and subject to statutory limitations, have been given authority to grant waivers to regulations that govern those programs
  • Involuntary Displacement:
    • Government action or a state or federally declared natural disaster involuntarily displaced you from a domicile in the KHA service area of Kendall County
  • Homeless
