Miami-Dade Public Housing and Community Development (PHCD) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from February 5, 2024 at 12:00 am, until February 19, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET. This waiting list was last open in May, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waiting list was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $36,150 | 5 Persons $55,750
  • 2 Persons $41,300 | 6 Persons $59,900
  • 3 Persons $46,450 | 7 Persons $64,000
  • 4 Persons $51,600 | 8 Persons $68,150

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Terminated due to Insufficient Funding by PHCD
  • Displacement due to Natural Disaster
  • Displacement due to Government Action
  • Homeless
  • Veterans
  • Mainstream Preference
  • Miami-Dade County Residency Preference.

5,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
