Open: Monarca Place Senior / Disabled Public Housing

The Middletown Housing Authority (MHA) waiting list for Elderly/Disabled Public Housing apartments at Monarca Place is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least June, 2020, until further notice.

Please note: According to the MHA, "All units are designed for the sensory impaired."

There are five ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Pick up an application at the MHA main office, located at 40 Broad St, Middletown, CT 06457; from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm ET, Monday-Friday.
  2. Complete the online form here to obtain an application.
  3. Call the MHA at (860) 346-8671 to obtain an application.
  4. Fax the MHA at (860) 347-0534 to obtain an application.
  5. Email the MHA at lori@middletownha.org to obtain an application.

Once the application has been completed, it must be returned to the MHA at 40 Broad St. Middletown,CT. 06457; from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm ET, Monday-Friday.

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

1 persons $54,950 | 3 persons $ 70,650

2 persons $ 62,800 | 4 persons $ 78,500

This waiting list has the following preferences: Households with deaf and/or blind household members.

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: Middledown, Connecticut Section 8 Voucher

The Middletown Housing Authority (MHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Pre-applications were last accepted from September 11, 2019, until September 12, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Open and print the online pre-application in English, or in Spanish.
  2. Pick up a pre-application from the MHA.

Once the application has been completed, it must be postmarked and mailed to the MHA. Only pre-applications postmarked September 11, 2019 through September 12, 2019 and received by September 23, 2019 were accepted.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

800 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences. 

According to MHA, "Applicants will be notified only if they are selected. If you have not received notification by November 15, 2019 then you have not been selected for the Wait List. No walk in, phone, fax, email or voice mail pre-applications will be accepted."
