Open: Moderate Rental Housing Project-Based

The Enfield Housing Authority (EHA) waiting list for Moderate Rental Housing apartments is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least April 2020, until further notice

To apply during the opening period, print the paper application that is here. Select the "Moderate Rental Housing Application" link.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

  1. Dropped off in person to the EHA, located at 1 Pearson Way, Enfield, CT 06082. Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm or by appointment from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  2. Faxed to (860) 741-8439.
  3. Mailed to The Enfield Housing Authority, 1 Pearson Way, Enfield, CT 06082.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Condemned or verified serious housing code violations
  • Inadequate heating, plumbing, or cooking facilities
  • Living in a documented physically or emotionally abusive situation 
  • Living in a shelter or transitional housing 
  • Living in temporary housing with others because of conditions beyond applicant’s control (condemnation, foreclosure, fire, loss of job, etc.) 
  • Living in overcrowded conditions in own housing unit 
  • Currently paying more than 31% of income towards rent/housing

It is not known how applicants will be placed on the waiting list.

Once the application has been completed, it must be dropped off in person to the EHA, located at 1 Pearson Way, Enfield, CT 06082. Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Condemned or verified serious housing code violations
  • Inadequate heating, plumbing, or cooking facilities
  • Living in a documented physically or emotionally abusive situation 
  • Living in a shelter or transitional housing 
  • Living in temporary housing with others because of conditions beyond applicant’s control (condemnation, foreclosure, fire, loss of job, etc.)

The Enfield Housing Authority (EHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from April 20, 2020, until April 23, 2020.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to print the online paper application.

Once the application was completed, it was postmarked no earlier than April 20, 2020 and no later than April 23, 2020, and mailed to the EHA.

The maximum income limits per each household size were as follows:

  • 1 person - $35,350 | 5 persons- $54,500
  • 2 persons- $40,400 | 6 persons- $58,550
  • 3 persons- $45,450 | 7 persons- $62,600
  • 4 persons- $50,450 | 8 persons- $66,600 

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

250 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

The Enfield Housing Authority (EHA) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The EHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from January 18, 2023, until January 23, 2023. There is no notice when the waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the EHA, this waiting list is for, "households that include a non-elderly person(s) with disabilities, defined as a family that includes a person with disabilities who is at least 18 years old and not yet 62 years of age."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to print the paper application.

Once the application was completed, it was required to be postmarked no earlier than January 18, 2023, and no later than January 23, 2023, and mailed to EHA.

The maximum income limit for each household size are as follows:

  • 1 person  $39,400 | 5 persons $60,800
  • 2 persons $45,050 | 6 persons $65,300
  • 3 persons $50,650 | 7 persons $69,800
  • 4 persons $56,300 | 8 persons $74,300

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

150 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
