The Bristol Housing Authority (BHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The BHA last accepted Section 8 HCV applications for this waiting list from September 24, 2021 until October 8, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Pick up an application from the BHA office lobby.

Once the application was completed, it was postmarked between September 24, 2021 and October 8, 2021, and mailed to the Bristol Housing Authority.

The maximum income limit for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person $36,550 | 4 Persons $52,150
  • 2 Persons $41,750 | 5 Persons $56,350
  • 3 Persons $46,950 | 6 Persons $60,500

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Victims of Domestic Violence (11 points)
  • Homeless (10 points)
  • Non-elderly disabled (6 points)
  • Veterans (1 point)

2,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

Closed: Zbikowski Park Section 8 Project-Based Voucher

The Bristol Housing Authority (BHA) waiting list for 2-Bedroom Project Based Voucher apartments at Zbikowski Park is currently closed. Pre-applications were last accepted from November 18, 2019, until November 22, 2019. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Download and print the paper pre-application online.
  2. Pick up a pre-application in person at the BHA main office.

Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be postmarked after November 18, 2019 and before November 22, 2019, and mailed to The Bristol Housing Authority.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as follows:

  • 1 Person   $42,420
  • 2 Persons $48,480
  • 3 Persons $54,540
  • 4 Persons $60,540
  • 5 Persons $65,400

There were no preferences.

100 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Open and print the pre-application online.
  2. Pick up an application at the BHA office.

Once the pre-application was completed it must have been mailed to the Bristol Housing Authority. Applications must have been postmarked between August 19, 2019 and August 29, 2019.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Victims of Domestic Violence
  • Homelessness
  • Non-elderly disabled
  • Veterans

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

The Bristol Housing Authority (BHA) Non-Elderly Disabled Public Housing waiting list for 1-Bedroom apartments is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from November 2, 2020 until November 13, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the BHA "Only households with a disabled head of household or co-head between the ages of 18-61 years of age qualify to apply. Maximum of 2 occupants for a 1-bedroom unit.'

There were three ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Print the online paper application.
  3. Pick up the application in person, from the the BHA office lobby.

Once the application was completed, it was postmarked no earlier than Nov 2, 2020 and no later than November 13, 2020 and received by November 20, 2020, and mailed to the Bristol Housing Authority.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

150 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

The Bristol Housing Authority (BHA) Senior Public Housing waiting list for 1-Bedroom apartments is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from July 17, 2020, until August 7, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period: 

  1. Print the online paper application.
  2. Pick up an application from the BHA.

Once the application was completed, it must be postmarked between July 17, 2020 until August 7, 2020 and mailed to the Bristol Housing Authority.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Victims of Domestic Violence (11 points)- A preference will be given for a family that includes a family member who is a victim of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who is in actual or imminent threat of harm.
  • Homeless (10 points) – A preference will be given to a family who is homeless in accordance with the McKinney-Vento Act. Referral letter, on letterhead, from an authorized representative of the local Continuum of Care Consortium (COCC)
  • Non-elderly disabled (5 points) – A preference will be given to a family where the head/co-head or spouse is disabled.
  • Veterans (1 point) – A preference will be provided for an existing family member who has an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces for active military service.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.

Please note: According to the BHA, the eligibility requirements were:

  • "Residents that are 62 years or older and have temporary or permanent difficulties with one or more essential activities of daily living."
