The Housing Authority of the City of Walsenburg (HACW) is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The HACW offers one public housing community with 129 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:1. Visit the HACW to pick up an application, located at 220 Russell St, Walsenburg, CO 81089 during normal office hours.2. Request an application be mailed to you by calling (719) 738-2720 during normal office hours.Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above. Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, social security cards, and photo IDs for all adult household members.The HACW does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: live and or work in the City of Walsenburg, or enrolled in a job or educational training program in the City of Walsenburg.For more information the HACW can be reached by calling (719) 738-2720 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday-Friday.
